Now a days, the dining room might just be the most neglected and unused room in the house. More and more dining room space is being converted for more practical use such as an office area for the stay at home mom, etc. Let’s face it, many families across America just don’t have time to sit down together and have dinner together, BUT…….many families DO get together each night to eat together.
When I think of dining room furniture I think old, ancient, and bulky furniture taking too much space. It has been said that having no space within your dining room will have pressure in your relationships within your family. To improve the Feng Shui of your dining area is to release negative energy from the clutterness of your dining space. There are a few simple steps that you can do now to enhance the quality of your family through Feng Shui.
First thing you should do is to position your dining room table and place it completely in the center. The space surrounding each side of your dining table should be equally proportionate. Make sure the table is the right size for people to comfortably seat themselves and get up from their dining chairs. It’s best to have two open doorways or a door/window combination to circulate the chi and not have stagnant chi in your dining room area. If theres a wall directly opposite of the window, place a mirror there to reflect an attractive, positive energy.
