What Makes Furniture Eco-Friendly?

May 21, 2008 · 1 Comment

Can furniture made out of wood be eco-friendly at the

same time? The answer is….YES! You might ask how

bedroom sets can be eco-friendly when we’re still using

high quality solid wood such as oak for the construction

of the bed sets. Wood is wood but it all depends where
the wood is coming from. There are logging farms that

grows lumber for furniture and then there’s illegal logging,

where trees from many parts of the country (such as

Indonesia, east Russia, The Amazon, Burma, etc) are

illegally cut down and are being sold as lumber. So don’t

get the misconception that eco-friendly furniture is

lower in quality; because its the same if not higher in

quality than non-green furniture minus the illegal

lumbering of preserved forests. There are many other

furniture that are made of sustainable harvested wood.

You can find Eco-friendly dining room furniture, coffee

table, living room furniture, and even metal bed frames

that are elegant and of the highest quality.

If you haven’t read my earlier post about green furniture, it will explain what I’m talking in greater detail here. [...]
